MEMBERS of Churches Together in Cinderford which includes all the churches in Cinderford and Littledean, gathered at the Triangle in Cinderford for the Good Friday Walk of Witness.

The service started with the singing of There is a Green Hill Far Away and this was followed by appropriate readings and prayers by members of the churches.

The procession moved off uphill to the Co-op following the Cross which was carried by members of the Forest Community Church with music by the Salvation Army.

A spokesman for Churches Together said: "Along the route some people watched, some interested, some scornful and some disinterested, reflecting the walk of Jesus to his crucifixion in Jerusalem."

There were readings and hymns at the Co-op and Methodist Church. After which ladies of the church served refreshments.
