I WOULD like to reply to Alec Kear of Oldcroft's letter in last week's Review.

What right has he got to decide what the people of Coleford want when he does not live in the town.

The majority of local people go out of town to do their main shopping including myself and my family.

We want to stop people taking their custom out of Coleford and bring more customers in.

The majority of Coleford people would welcome a larger Tescos.

The Co-op has had the monopoly for too long, it is time it had some good competition.

Living in Coleford I know what the town has to offer, I also work in the hospice shop in town and hear the views of local people and visitors alike.

I am very pleased and proud that we get a lot of visitors to stay and enjoy our beautiful countryside year after year.

Last week I met a family who have been camping in the area for 40 years. Now their family comes at every opportunity they get. They also do their main shopping out of Coleford because they do not like the Co-op.

So, please leave the people of Coleford to make their own choice.
