I note that Cinderford RFC, proudly representing the Forest of Dean (a part of England for those ignorant of the existence and whereabouts of Offa's Dyke) in the most northerly parts of Co. Durham, have just beaten Blaydon (a famous English name indeed) in their first away fixture at this venue 14-7. Meanwhile Gloucester RFC once again sit at the top of the foreign-dominated (if not quite yet foreign-owned) premiership. But do not expect Gloucester players to be selected for the pusillanimous England XV. They are far too good. – Gerald Morgan, Dublin.
