WESTBURY-on-Severn has taken the overall runners-up spot in the Vibrant Village of the Year Competition, coming second to Bisley, near Stroud.

Woolaston was joint second in Category 2, Best Community Project/Initiative; Westbury won Category 4, Healthy and Active Community, and participation certificates for the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council-run event went to Blakeney, Mitcheldean and Newland.
