A NEW community fund is being launched by the directors of Resilient Energy Great Dunkilns.
Anthony Cooke of Great Dunkilns Farm and Andrew Clarke of the Resilience Centre, say the St Briavels Wind Turbine Community Fund is part of an ongoing commitment to support the local community.
"We have pledged an annual donation towards projects in the St. Briavels area which we expect to average £15,000-£20,000 a year over the 25-year operation of the turbine," they say.
There are already funds building in the 'pot' and the first awards will be made ahead of schedule.
They are inviting applications from community projects and promise there will be no red tape.
"If you or your group need financial assistance with a local community project that will help to increase community resilience, then we want to hear from you," they say.
"We encourage applications from all ages and groups in St. Briavels and its environs and look forward to hearing your ideas.
"We are keen to support projects where the funding will help deliver real community benefits and applications will be assessed on this basis.
"As the fund is a rolling programme we encourage applications from projects at all stages of development. Projects which may not be successful at this stage will be considered in future rounds."
