IF you want to win some great prizes, the Review’s website is the place to head – as these winners have shown.

Among the recent prizes up for grabs were tickets to see Shakespeare play in the amazing surroundings of Chepstow and Raglan castles, a meal deal at Al’s Plaice chip shop in Coleford or Whitecroft and treats for the Forest’s cutest dog.

The winner of the precious pooches competition, sponsored by Bilbo’s pet spa of Lydney and Knockley Dog Foods of Bream was Tika, the King Charles spaniel owned by Suanne Darkes.

Amanda Powell had a tasty treat as the winner of the Al’s Plaice meal deal and Pam Mitchell-Smith won tickets to see Comedy of Errors by the Lord Chamberlain’s men at Chepstow Castle.

Rachael Hodges, who won the tickets to the Raglan Castle production, has her own claim to fame – she is Monmouthshire’s only female recycling and refuse collector, helping remove recycling and rubbish from homes in the Chepstow and Wye Valley areas.

She said: “I’m Monmouthshire’s only bin lady and really enjoy the job. I work with a great bunch of lads.”

Rachael took up a temporary job on the wagons for a fortnight – but that was three years ago.

She said: “People don’t expect a woman to be doing the job but as long as you are physically fit it’s fine – you can walk up to 20 miles a day and put 10 tonnes onto the lorry.

“I love animals and I always carry dog treats so when they hear the wagon, they come and wait by the gates.”
