A WOMAN and young child were left injured after a car mounted the pavement in Lydney last Monday afternoon (October 24).

It is understood the 40-year-old woman was hit and thrown by the car while she was standing next to the Lloyds TSB cashpoint in Newerne Street.

The road was closed while she was treated for leg injuries by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. Police said her injuries were: "not life threatening".

Her 10-year-old son suffered minor ankle injuries

It is believed the three-vehicle collision occurred after a black Mercedes driven by an elderly woman came out of the valeting service on the opposite side of the road at around 3pm.
