I WOULD like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to our Regional Health Authority for the exceptional treatment of my wife and myself. We are both OAPs and diagnosed with chronic illnesses. The treatment and help we receive from all branches of the NHS has been truly wonderful.
Firstly, I wish to thank Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and all its staff from cardiologists, doctors and nurses to administrative staff. I have recently spent a while in GRH and, as usual, my stay was made as comfortable as possible. The nursing staff, during my stay, were cheerful, polite and extremely attentive.
I must also commend the Ambulance Service and paramedic staff for their fantastic treatment when they have carried me to hospital many, many times. Without these dedicated people, I would have departed from this life on several occasions.
My thanks also extends to the doctors and nursing staff of Forest Health Care GP Practice, whom, in conjunction with Boots Chemist at Cinderford, keep our medication and treatment up to date, my gratitude extends to them. Finally, Gloucestershire Social Services, Coleford House, Gloucester Guide Posts, Gloucester Carers, Foxes Bridge Day Centre, Colliers Court and last, but not least, my immediate family, all of whom contribute to our welfare. To all of them I offer my heartfelt thanks on behalf of my wife and myself.
Finally, I say to the critics of all the services, "stop and pause for a moment and think where would we be without these dedicated people?" I, for one, would no longer be alive.
I trust you will print this letter as it comes from the heart.
I realise that mistakes are made occasionally, but, remember, we are all human and no one, or anything, is completely infallible. – Bruce Nash, Cinderford.
