THE landlady at a Cinderford pub has shut the doors for the final time after five years.
Sonya Liddiatt took to social media to thank customers for their custom at The Woodlands in St White’s Road.
She said: “It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post. We’ve had an amazing time the last five years.”
The fate of the building is yet to be determined.
“We thank you all for your support and customer over the last five years.”
Sonya, at the family-run business, added: “One of the main reasons for closing is the lack of trade – it’s the climate we are in. We don’t have a plan as yet for the future.”
Owner and well-known businessman Vivian Carpenter, of Carpenters DIY, said he intends to find another tenant to continue trade.
He said: “I am looking for a tenant to take over the pub. I have no intention to convert it into a block of flats but obviously if I can’t find a suitable tenant who wants to take it over I’ll have to reassess my options.”
