FOREST elderly who could be eligible for benefits or allowances but don't know about them can call on Lydcare's advocacy and advice service.
Pat Stott of Lydcare, which also runs transport and befriending schemes, says: "Some of the forest elderly who are most in financial need can be the 'hardest to reach' and are often fiercely independent. Many are still unaware of the variety of allowances and benefits they may be entitled to and that extra money can make a big difference.
"We employ the services of an experienced benefits advisor who can make applications on behalf of elderly clients and advise on what help is available. It could be well worth giving her a call."
