FUNDRAISER Gail Rawlings says she has been overwhelmed with telephone calls from charities after a report in last week's Review (Charity show funds can't find a worthy cause).
She is organising a charity horse and pony show at Speech House on Sunday, April 19 and appealed for suggestions for a charity to support.
There was no response to her poster campaign and Gail was concerned that she might be left without a cause, until she came to the Review.
Gail said: "I've been completely overwhelmed by the response from the article in the Review and have received upwards of 200 phone calls!
"I would like to apologise to anyone who has not been able to get through, but I am trying to get back to people who have left messages. I would also like to thank everyone for their interest."
Gail is asking representatives from the charities to write a brief note detailing what the charity does and what the funds would be used for.
These need to be sent to 5 Trenchard Road, Bream, Lydney, Gloucestershire, GL15 6AR.
Gail will organise the charities into categories, display them in a marquee on the day and ask the public to vote for their charity of choice.
"I think that's the fairest way, but if any charities want to run a stall they are welcome and I won't charge them a pitch fee."
Roadsafety charity Time and Place donated a PA system free of charge for the day and will be running a raffle to raise funds.
