THE Forest of Dean Angling Club's free four-day training camp at Plump Hill Pool, Mitcheldean, attracted another bumper turn-out with children from the age of six to 16.

Entrants came mainly from the Forest, but there were also youngsters from Monmouth, Hereford, Bristol and Tewkesbury.

The event was organised and run by fully qualified CRB-checked coaches from Angling4acatch Tuition.

Every one of the 80 youngsters caught fish, and the biggest specimen was a super carp of over 7lb.

Nick Oakley from Angling4acatch said: "It's fantastic to see so many new youngsters coming along each year to participate. Also, it's gratifying to get so many mums and dads taking a keen interest."

The event was timed to coincide with the National Fishing Month so all the youngsters had goodie bags and a certificate to take home with them.
