A HAT-TRICK of tries from Cinderford winger and man of the match Nev Codlin helped his team register a much needed bonus point victory over Blaydon.
Playing at home for the first time for two months Cinderford were put under early pressure by the Blaydon forwards and from a lineout catch and drive the Tynesiders' flanker Harry Bate touched down for an unconverted try.
The home side soon opened their account when scrum half Clive Stuart-Smith stole possession and Codlin showed great strength to force his way through for a try which Mark Davies converted.
Andrew Baggett regained the lead for the visitors when he kicked a penalty, and the score remained unchanged up until half-time.
Davies kicked a penalty early in the second-half to put Cinderford back in front, and soon afterwards Codlin went over for his second try following some excellent play by full-back Mike Wilcox.
More good play from Wilcox then gave Sam Baker the space to race through to score with Davies adding the conversion.
Davies put over a drop-goal to make it 25-8 before Blaydon responded with an unconverted try from James Hallam.
With five minutes remaining Codlin completed his hat-trick, with Wilcox once again the creator, and Davies landed the conversion.
The Foresters are now third from bottom in National League One but have either two or three games in hand on their nearest rivals.
