THERE were some great tumbles from Kestrel gymnasts at the Welsh Tumbling NDP Championships in Cardiff with five qualifying for the regional titles in June.
The Chepstow-based youngsters had to complete three set tumbles, and a range and conditioning routine showing flexibility and strength, whilst aiming to achieve the required scores in the top two places to represent Wales at the Regional in Birmingham.
Eight-year-old Olive Dunster was totally focussed and won Grade 1 gold in the nine to 10 years age group.
In the 11 to 12 Grade 2 section, Maisie Edwards landed silver and Charlotte Jones bronze.
The 11 to 12 boys went on with harder tumbles in Grade 3, Joseph Dunster being crowned champion with gold and Joel Kohler-Hoon taking silver,
Georgie Davies had great tumbles in the 13 years and over section also taking gold.
Shirley Lazere-Bennett, the club’s coach, said it was a fantastic day to have five gymnasts presented with qualifying trophies and the right to represent Wales in Birmingham.
