CALDICOT RFC prepared for their return to league action this Saturday in fine style with a 36-7 victory over a Newport and District XV.

Tries from Matthew Wilce two, Marc Jenkins, Shaun Lewis and John Rogers, sealed an excellent win in the match played on Thursday night as part of the club's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Without a game for six weeks due to a combination of the weather and Six Nations, it looked like the break had done them good as they started well against an opposition that contained top players from throughout the Newport area, including Caldicot's own Lloyd Mellens, Arran Rowles and Ted Baker.
