MORE than 20 anglers competed for the Tom and Sheila Carter Cup at Cannop Ponds on Sunday (December 8).

The trophy was donated by Tom Carter of Carter’s of Coleford, who was a member of Yorkley Angling Club.

Conditions at Cannop meant it was not an easy fish and several members came away from the five-hour competition without a catch.

The winner was Brian Anderson who netted three bream for 12lb 12oz.

Second was Steve Burge who caught two bream for a total weight of 8lb 4oz.

Michael Drew was third on 7lb 12oz with two bream.
