CINDERFORD welcomed one of Wales’s leading club sides which included former British Lions number eight Andy Powell.

Powell played 50 minutes for the Ironmen who were third in last year’s Swalec Championship, the second tier of Welsh club rugby.

Despite being 0-21 down at one point, the Foresters fought back to level the scores before a decisive try for the visitors in the last five minutes.

The only score in the first half hour was a penalty try converted for the Welshmen by Dan McNamara.

Further converted tries by Dan Parry and Nathan Brewer over the course of the next half hour extended the lead to 0-21.

Cinderford fought back with tries from Ben Penfold and Sam Hanks both of which were converted by Penfold.

In the final quarter Hanks got his second with the conversion by Penfold levelling the scores to set up a nail-biting finale.

But it was the visitors who claimed the victory with a well-taken Rhys Walker try in the final five minutes, converted by Dean Gunter.
