Alvington and Woolaston 67-all out (19 overs), Newent III 68-2

ALVINGTON and Woolaston were restricted to 67 all out with Laurence Hull the pick of the visiting bowlers, taking three wickets for five runs in four overs.

Newent’s Joshua Brawn, Joshua Hayes and Chloe Skelton each claimed a pair of wickets each with Brawn taking 2-18 off five overs, Hayes 2-8 off his single over and Skelton 2-10 off five.

The top scorer for Alvington and Woolaston was mid-order batsman Olly Davies who scored 27, eventually being caught by Steve Skelton off the bowling of Hayes.

It was one of three catches by Skelton, who was also responsible for the dismissal of the home side’s second highest scorer, Roger Wakefield who went for 16, off the bowling of Chloe Skelton.

His third dismissal was George Merritt who went for a duck off the bowling of Brawn.

The only other home batsman to make it to double figures was Gavin Thurston who was bowled for 10 by Andy Robbins.

The Skeltons both went in to bat for Newent with Steve top-scoring for the visitors with 19 before going leg before off the bowling of George Merritt.

Chloe was caught on 13 by Gavin Thurston off the bowling of Mark Meakin but Joseph Thompson, with 18, and Joshua Hayes on 10, saw Newent to the target.
