Lydney III 140 all v Newnham 240-7

THERE were two half centuries as Newnham posted a challenging target of 241 at Lydney.
Reuben Collins hit 62 before being bowled by Connor Mullan while James Kenny was undefeated on 51 at the end of Newnham’s 40 overs.
There was also 31 from Hugh Gibbs who was run out by Andrew Davis, 16 from Matthew Spoor who was caught off the bowling of Jack Bartlett, 14 each for Aubrey Stubbs, who was run out by Mullan, and Christopher Hayward who was bowled by Josh Slee.
Alex Kear was caught for eight off the bowling of Riley Scrivens and Liam Hurcombe was bowled by Davis on one.
The top scorer for the thirds was Jack Bartlett who was caught by Gibbs off the bowling of Kear for 26.
But it was Newnham’s bowlers who were on top with three wickets for Kear, two each for Stubbs, James Kenny and Reuben Elliot and one for Matthew Kerr.
The other wickets were runs-out by Marcello and Josh Slee with Lydney’s final total of 140 being exactly 100 runs shy of matching Newnham’s total.
