THERE'S more to the frisbee than messing about on the beach or in the garden, say a group of enthusiasts in the Dean.
The plastic flying discs have been popular for many years but now it has become competitive.
The Forest Ultimate Frisbee Club is looking for new members as it starts playing in competitions for the first time.
Club founder Jon Powell of St Briavels said: "It is a cross between American football and netball and anyone can play.
"The idea is to get the frisbee into your opponents' end zone, like American football, but as in netball you are not allowed to move the Frisbee.
"It's a relatively new sport and is played mostly in universities so we have started Dean Ultimate Frisbee."
The club trains in Coleford on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm. For more information visit the club's Facebook page.
