DRYBROOK dominated possession to record a first league win over Forest neighbours Berry Hill.

Tries by Tom Treharne and acting captain Luke Fisher capped an enthralling game in front of some 600 spectators.

"It was a fantastic day of rugby and after the match the Berry Hill lads came back to the club," said Drybrook club spokesman Chris Rawlings.

"We've beaten them in cup games before but this is the first time we've beaten them in the league.

"We had most of the possession but Berry Hill put in some awesome defence. They played very well and their league position doesn't reflect how good a side they are."

Drybrook are now in third place in the league and can now be considered serious candidates for promotion to South West One West.

Chris said: "After the success of last season we were looking to consolidate in the league until Christmas and then evaluate where we were."

In addition to the league derby fans were also treated to a clash of the Forest veterans.

Drybrook ran out 8-0 winners with a try from Jimmy Ryde and a penalty from Jason Roberts, who is known affectionately as "the racing snail".
