OUR four-legged friends will be putting their best foot forward when they they step out with their owners for charity.

The fourth annual Bark For Life stroll through the Forest takes place this Sunday, April 9, starting at 11am, with all proceeds from the three-mile fundraiser going towards Cancer Research UK.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a dog, you are still welcome to join in.

More than 40 furry friends and their owners from as far afield as Bristol and Gloucester have already entered alongside Forest dog owners.

The walk will be followed by free refreshments (tea, coffee, home-made cakes & home-made soup) for humans and treats for canines.

It will culminate with a mini dog show with certificates and medals for category winners, including ‘the dog most like its owner’.

Lynne Eagles, of Cancer Research UK, said: "This event is run by volunteers with no out-going costs, and all proceeds will help save lives, funding ground-breaking research.

"It’s simply a great morning in the great outdoors with you and your furry friend, helping to beat cancer sooner."
