Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One
Whitecroft 3-1 English Bicknor
----
WHITECROFT took the points in this derby with fellow Northern Senior League first division new boys English Bicknor.
The home side have found it a bit of a struggle because of players being unavailable so far this season, but they are getting close to full strength.
Whitecroft were on top in the first half and scored midway through when a dangerous Tom Wareham cross was turned into his own net by a Bicknor player.
About 10 minutes later Joe Harrison gave Whitecroft more of a cushion with a headed goal.
The visitors brought themselves back into it just before half-time though with a goal to make it 2-1 at the break.
And Bicknor put more pressure on their hosts after the restart and had the opportunity to level things from the penalty spot, but the kick went awry.
Whitecroft went straight up the field and were immediately awarded a spot kick of their own which Joel Giddens converted to make it 3-1.
Woolaston still lead the league following a 6-2 home win over Leonard Stanley.
James Burchill scored twice and there were also goals for David Alex Harvey, Connor Hayden, Gareth Rose and sub Mark Organ.
Harrow Hill beat Upton St Leonards 3-1 with goals from Matthew Boseley, Nathan Davies and Matthew Grindle.
