Coleford Town 0-1 Broadwell Reserves

BROADWELL Reserves went into their final league game of the season knowing that only a win would give them the title.

They started the day two points behind leaders Staunton and Corse, so only the full three points would do.

For 80 minutes the Coleford defence held firm, but at last Ethan Wilks found a way past to secure the title.

Broadwell will now being looking to make it a league and cup double.

They face Huntley in the final of the JO Roberts Cup at Lydney on Monday, May 6. Kick-off is 5pm.

Earlier in the day there had been another Coleford v Broadwell encounter with the former’s reserves taking on Broadwell A in the battle of the Division One basement.

Goals from Jack Halson and Keith Pattterson gave bottom side Town the victory.

Ler Dicks got the goal for the visitors who remain one place above Coleford.

The division was won by Blakeney with Whitecroft Reserves second.

In Division Two, leaders Staunton and Corse Reserves finished with a flourish, putting five unanswered goals past Milkwall Reserves.

Toby Summers scored twice and there was one goal each for Jacob Dunn, Julian Jones and substitute Mounir Nouira.

Second met third with Ellwood Reserves travelling to Whitecroft A.

It was 1-1 at half-time but Whitecroft went on to score twice more after the break.

Jason Murrell, Jayson Watkins and substitute Joe Whittington scored for the home side and Mark Wayman got the goal for Ellwood.

Despite the reverse, Ellwood finished 16 points ahead of Whitecroft to comfortably claim the runners-up positiom.

In Division Three, champions Soudley went down to their third defeat of the season with a 4-0 reversal at Weston.

Runners-up Blakeney Reserves had a better end to the season with a 5-1 victory at Redmarley Reserves.

Lewis Frazer-Holland and Anthony Smith each scored two and the other goal came from Kieran James.
