ELLWOOD Youth under-10s took the Severn Vale Services Shield with a 4-1 win.

The youngsters secured the league cup against Ashleworth under-10s at the ground of Frampton FC.

On the way to the final they beat Severnside Nuclear, Abbeymead Rovers and GVR Chalford – who had not been beaten all season – in an exciting 3-2 win.

Ellwood started the final on the front foot from the first whistle with the team working really hard for each other.

Captain Charlie Halford scored two goals for Ellwood with Ellis McRoberts hitting the target with a scorcher and Harry James adding another.

The under-10s have had an outstanding season under manager Shaun Halford and his assistant Gareth James, and have lost only a couple of games on their way to winning the league cup.

Ellwood Youth coach Jason Bevan said: “I am extremely proud of the under 10s, their managers and especially the players and all the supporters.

“We are a very close youth football set up supporting one another. 

“We currently have Ellwood under-fives, under-sixes, under-sevens, under-eights, under-nines, under-10s under-12s and U13s teams.    

“I also want to thank all involved at Ellwood Youth. We are currently looking for any local business that would like to sponsor one of Ellwood Youth’s teams for the upcoming season.”
