Lydney Town A put four past Weston

LYDNEY Town A picked up the three points after dominating the second half against Weston.

The first half was evenly matched but the home side pulled away in the second.

Brad Morgan scored twice and the other goals came from Kai Morgan and Theo Parkhouse.

The result keeps Lydney in second place in Division Two of the North Gloucestershire League.

Division Two leaders Newnham United remain undefeated after 12 games with a 3-2 win over Bream Amateurs.

Thomas Fraser and Matthew Ridler were among the Newnham scorers while Liam Saunders got both of Bream’s goals.

Ben Barton and Carl Hyett got two goals each as Soudley Reserves beat Milkwall Reserves 6-1.

The home sides’s other goals came from Alfie Hampson and substitute Luke Underwood.

Oliver Bynon scored the consolation for Milkwall.

The win leaves Soudley in third place, a point behind Lydney Town A.

Goals for Markus Deardean and Rico Cook meant that Viney St Swithins and Mushet and Coalway Reserves went into the break level.

But another goal for Dearden and one each for Danny Grainger and Simon Jones saw Viney run out 4-1 winners.

The win means that Viney leapfrog Weston, Mushet and Bream to move from eighth place to fourth in the table.
