ROSS Juniors Football Club has teamed up

with Birmingham City Ladies.

Ross Junior Girls only started four years ago and has been working hard to offer all female players the best opportunities and coaching, so were naturally delighted to hear it had been accepted as the first Gold Level Sister Club for Birmingham City Ladies FC.

Birmingham City Ladies FC have been ever present in FA Women’s Super League since it was formed in 2011 and alongside Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are one of the more respected and successful Ladies teams in the country. They have several current international players in their squad including current England internationals Kerys Harrop and Jade Moore.

The partnership means Ross Juniors will benefit from player visits, tournament days with other sister clubs, as well as player coaching sessions – to name a few.

On April 24 Ross Girls will be the mascots and flag wavers at a sister club day before the premier league game for Birmingham City Ladies against Manchester City Ladies.

Club president, Martin Hudson said: “This sounds like a brilliant initiative that will certainly raise Ross Juniors girls and women’s profile. The relationship is already blossoming and the Ross girls are delighted to hear that some of the Birmingham City Ladies players, including vice-captain Kerys Harrop, will be visiting this month to coach them.”

Paul Flitney, one of the club coaches, added: “We have been in girls’ football such a short time but have grown quickly and now to be able to offer all our players the chance to train with professionals and regular opportunities for them to be trialled is such an amazing development for us and girls football in the county.”
