ROSIE Eccles from Chepstow won the coveted gold medal in the GB Elite Three Nations final in Scotland last weekend.

Rosie is now one of only eight Welsh boxers picked for the commonwealth boxing team.

Steve Woods, Rosie’s former coach at Chepstow Boxing Club (CBC), said: “All the coaches here are absolutely over the moon for her. Rosie now does all her training at the Wales institute of Sport in Cardiff but she still boxes as a CBC member.

“This is her second gold medal win for Wales in just over a month: the first was in an A class tournament out in Spain called the Boxam. This gold medal now makes her the British champion and I am sure this is her first of many British titles to come. Rosie has worked so hard for this and now it is all paying off.”
