A TEAM from Chepstow School represented Wales at the British Championships in Dublin.

The under-14 side drew with the Republic of Ireland, lost to Northern Ireland and beat England in its last game.

The trip was funded by an intense month of fund-raising with the

local community rallying round.

The team’s shirts carried the name of Harrison Marshall to honour the pupil who died in a car crash in 2013.

Coach Jamie Goddard said: “They were an absolute credit and a delight to take away – it was an unbelievable experience for them and the parents who travelled with us.

“The whole trip was a fantastic success both on and off the field.

“We would like to give our sincere thanks once more to everybody in the community who donated time, money and resources to help our team compete – it was a fantastic experience for the boys and they will never forget it.

“We are extremely proud of the boys for their sportsmanship and  behaviour as well as their achievement.”
