Whitehouse Press North Gloucestershire League Premier Division
Coleford Town 2-0 Howle Hill
--------
COLEFORD Town moved into fourth in the North Gloucestershire Premier with this win over second-placed Howle Hill.
Goals by Lee Probert and Ollie Fitt secured the points for the home side.
Probert put Town in front early on with a 20-yarder with Fitt sealing the win with a scrappy goal towards the end of the 90 minutes, said club chairman Rob Merry.
“It was a good performance but we missed some chances,” he said. “That’s happened a few times this season and it’s cost us a few points.
“This was a good win for us though, Howle Hill are a strong side.”
He said things were going well for the club both on and off the pitch.
“The aim is to get the firsts back into the Northern Senior League and we are also building towards having an under-16 side.
“We are making improvements with a car park being done at the moment.
“We have a licence for the bar and we hope people will come along and enjoy the game and have a drink.
“We are also grateful to Coleford Town Council, the Angus Buchanan Trust and our sponsors, Snape Contractors, who are really working together.”
Leaders Broadwell Reserves did not have a game this weekend, but retain a five-point cushion.
Just three points separate the next six teams.
There was a goal fest at Huntley where the home side shared eight goals with Bream to pick up a point.
Westbury maintained its place in the chasing pack with a 2-0 win at bottom club Redbrook Rovers.
