CINDERFORD ran in three tries and kept a clean sheet as the Foresters made the perfect riposte to last week's disappointment at Wharfdale.

This was a hard-working performance from Cinderford who defended with determination in the first-half against a much bigger visiting pack.

The opening 40 minutes saw few clear scoring opportunities but fly-half Mike Wilcox gave the home side the advantage with a penalty after six minutes and a 40-metre effort just before the break.

Cinderford started the second half brightly and a lineout catch and drive saw hooker Tom Bozzard emerge with the ball to claim a try, which was well converted by Wilcox.

Cinderford kept up the momentum and pressure on the Londoners' line saw a knock-on in goal and scrum-half Danny Pointon pounced on the loose ball for a try which went unconverted.

Blackheath tried hard to get back in the match but the home defence was well up the task and Cinderford scored a third try with ten minutes remaining when centre and man-of-the-match Brad Davies intercepted for Stef Hawley raced clear to score. Wilcox landed the conversion to complete the scoring.
