A MAGNIFICENT seven medals were secured by Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club’s youngsters as they hosted the men’s county floor and vault championships, with four silvers and three bronze.
Daniel Suchanek and Ethan Duberley in the Novice One age eight to nine started the day well at Five Acres, by winning joint bronze medals, Daniel placing first on floor with Ethan coming second.
In the age 10 and over Novice One, Harry Parsons impressed in both floor and vault to win silver.
Zac Peglar won bronze in the Novice Two age eight and under, finishing just 0.2 points away from the joint gold winners, placing second on vault and floor. Archie Weyman and Robson Trigg also did well, placing fifth and sixth.
Arthur Hills and Zac Nikoukar added to the medal tally by winning joint silver in the Novice Two age nine and 10.
Smart routines by both saw Zak place second on floor while Arthur placed third on both floor and vault.
Seth Harness and Callum Beddis also competed in this large field, coming equal fifth overall, despite Seth winning the vault.
In the higher level junior competition, Henry Lafford and Alex Cook competed confidently, including well flighted somersaults in their tumbles. Alex won the vault with Henry 0.1 behind in second.
Henry took overall silver with another second place on floor, but Alex was squeezed out of the medals by just 0.1 of a point.
