ROSS centre Jack Davies was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital as a precaution following a neck injury.

The club has extended its thanks to Drybrook number eight Richie Roberts who stayed with the 19-year-old, supporting his neck until the ambulance arrived.

Davies stretched his neck muscles after going over awkwardly while making a tackle, and has since been released from hospital.

The game continued on the second pitch with Jon Mustoe coming on to replace Roberts.

Drybrook showed their intent from the whistle with a converted try within five minutes.

The home side caught the kick-off and crashed through the visitors’ defence and great hands from scrum-half James Colwell took them to within five metres of the line.

Ross conceded a penalty and quick ball sent Simon Rugman touching down.

The pressure continued from the kick-off with the forwards giving Colwell the platform to create the space for a 50-metre dash.

He was brought down by a high tackle just short of the line and the resulting tap penalty led to the second try to make it 12-0.

Nik Wakeman cros-sed the line to increase the Drybrook score to 17 on the 23rd minute and Rugman got his second five minutes before the break with Aaron Ryder converting for a 24-0 scoreline.

The second half kicked off with Connor Parry catching the ball and running 40 metres before getting tackled just before the line and then penalised for not releasing.

Five minutes later he crossed the line to make it 29-0.

Five minutes into the second half he got the first of a hat-trick of tries and there were further touch downs for Rugman and Aaron Ryder.
