FORMER Berry Hill player Jack Sargent brightened a difficult week for his family by winning the Middlesex Club Sevens tournament.

The 30-year-old, originally from Aylburton, has been playing for Hammersmith and Fulham RFC for five years and dedicated the victory to his grandad, Russell George, who passed away on April 29.

Jack said: "Grandad loved me, my brothers Rob, Josh and cousin Charles Vine playing sport and would follow us and support us wherever we played. The rest of the family and I will miss him so much."

His dad Mark added: "Russell was an incredibly well-known local character and sportsman, who was immensely proud not only of his four grandsons for following in their grandad's sporting footsteps, but his entire family full-stop."
