LITTLEDEAN beat mid-table rivals Redbrook but their sights are very much on next season.

The side came into the season with high hopes of being a promotion contender but a poor start put them on the back foot.

Littledean manager James Haines said: "We expected to be further up the table. We've not had a good season by our standards.

"We wasted numerous opportunities and we weren't scoring and we weren't defending well.

"We're back on track and we're preparing for next year."

The home side dominated the first half of this game and cemented their superiority with two goals just before half-time.

Jamie Shurmers opened the scoring with the goal of the game when he lobbed visiting 'keeper from 30 yards.

The lead was doubled shortly after when Dan Lawrence latched onto a through ball and slid it into the corner.

Ten minutes into the second half Jake Taylor made the game safe Littledean's third goal.

Rovers pressurised as they fought to get back into the game a goal 10 minutes from time was no more than a consolation.
