IT'S shaping up to be a nerve-jangling end to the season in the North Gloucestershire Premier division with two teams making the running.

A Julian Saunders goal earned Milkwall the three points at Westbury to keep the pressure on leaders Woolaston.

Woolaston also won three precious points with a 1-0 win over visitors Lydbrook Athletic Reserves.

Woolaston have played 17 of their 24 games but Milkwall are threatening at five points behind with two games in hand and a slightly better goal difference – 34 compared to Woolaston's 32.

If things stay as they are, the crunch could come on the afternoon of Saturday, May 3 when Milkwall travel to Woolaston for a game that could help decide who become champions.

In the division's other games third-placed Whitecroft thumped Broadwell Reserves 1-7 away, Bream Amts and Coleford Utd played out a 2-2 draw, Lydney Town Reserves and English Bicknor drew 1-1 and Huntley were rewarded for the long trip to St Briavels with a 3-5 win.
