CINDERFORD-based Severn Sapphires were well beaten by the visitors from Gloucester in this Division Five match played at Heywood Leisure Centre.

The Sapphires are the junior side at the Severn Stars club which also plays in the Gloucestershire Netball League but are in the third division along with Lydney-based Lyndean.

The Sapphires have struggled this season and have notched up just one win since September.

The club is based at Heywood and welcomes players who want to play just for fun as well as those who want competitive matches in the league and club members range in age from 14 to adult.

Severn Stars train at Heywood Leisure Centre on Wednesday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.30pm and new members are welcome.
