BOB Healy is familiar face around Dewstow Golf Club near Caldicot and at 92 he's certainly the oldest.
He may use a buggy rather walk the course these days but Bob still enjoys his golf and has no intention of giving it up.
Bob retired from British Steel in 1985 and was looking for something to occupy his time.
"I had sciatica at the time so I knew I had to keep fit," Bob said.
"My son-in-law played golf and he asked me if I wanted to have a go," added Bob.
"It used to be difficult to get into a club in Cardiff then someone suggested we visit Dewstow and we found it to be a happy, friendly club with two good courses. We've been here ever since."
Every Wednesday Bob and his friend Bob Phillips meet up with a dozen other golfers for a round at Dewstow.
"We share the driving so one of us can have a pint or two with the other lads.
"We have a kitty for nearest the pin and stuff like that which makes it more interesting," added Bob who is justifiably proud of his hole-in-one in 2009.
Now, 27 years on, the sciatica is no longer a problem and neither is his fitness.
"I can't remember the last time I went to see the doctor. Playing golf is a bonus and although it's not in my hands, if I get to 100, I'll still be playing," he promised.
