CHEPSTOW Town striker Jason Thorn says his team mates are up for the challenge of making history against Havefordwest County in the FAW Welsh Cup on Saturday.

A bumper crowd is expected at Larkfield Park for the fourth round tie, which will also be played in front of the TV cameras of S4C football highlights show Sgorio.

Jason said: "I think it will help us raise our game. I have played in front of the TV cameras before and it is more exciting than nerve-wracking. This is the furthest any of us has been in the cup before and we are looking forward to it. We know they will be a good side but if we play to our best then we know we can hold our own."

The prolific striker is likely to present the visitors with the biggest threat on Saturday having already scored 10 league goals at better than a goal a game this season, and although his side's cup success has put them further behind their fellow Welsh League Division Three promotion chasers, Jason says the players wouldn't swap their current situation.

He added: "It is nice to have a big game like this to look forward to. It is going to be difficult playing catch up in the league – and the weather hasn't helped – but you don't get many matches like this. Hopefully it will be a decent crowd and being at home gives us a slight advantage compared to the last few rounds. We are the underdogs but we will try and go out there and show what we are capable of."
