CINDERFORD Town booked their place in this weekend’s FA Cup FA First Round Qualifying after seeing off the challenge of Chipping Sodbury.
And they did it in style with a 0-5 replay win on the other side of the Severn on Tuesday night.
A re-match was needed after the Hellenic League Premier side held the Foresters to a goal-less draw at The Causeway last weekend.
The visitors were 0-2 up with barely a quarter of an hour played.
They took a 13th-minute lead through Mitch McCann with Ben Brooks adding the second just four minutes later, Ben Brooks doubled that advantage.
Harry Emmett scored the first of his two goals on the night with half an hour played.
He added his second, and Town’s fourth with a minute of the first half left.
Dan Barnard wrapped up the scoring in the 71st minute.
The win earned Town a home tie with Wessex League Premier Division side Laverstock and Ford tomorrow (Saturday) with a 3pm kick-off.
The game pits the Step Four Southern League Division One South hosts against the Step Five visitors from Salisbury.
The senior side was not the only ones in a goal-scoring mood on Tuesday.
Town’s under-18s were in action against Belmont Wanderers at The Causeway and ran out 7-1 winners.
There were two goals each from Kyran Meek and Max Telling while Callum Love, Bailey James and Connor Smith all scored one.
