HAVING lost just one home game in 22 months Undy Athletic were brought back down to earth with a bump following two defeats in five days.

Athletic had hoped to bounce back from their 4-1 reverse to Croesyceiliog midweek in the Welsh League division two with the visit of Garden Village but were eventually beaten 2-1.

The home side started well and took the lead midway through the first half through Gareth Cullimore.

But Athletic were made to pay for failing to convert a string of chances just 10 minutes later when Village striker Jordan Prosser levelled the scores with a fine strike.

The visitors carried their momentum into the second half and went in front through a well-worked corner headed in by Ashley Richards.

Despite dominating possession Undy were unable to find the cutting edge needed to get back in the game leaving manager Mark Cross frustrated.

Crook has been pleased with the style of football played by his newly-promoted side but there has been an inability to turn neat passing into goals.

Undy will be looking to put things right on Saturday when they make the short derby trip to Caldicot Town.
