ALVINGTON footballer Mack Sadler has been signed to Newport County Academy.
The 15-year-old former Lydney Town player, who has been a goalkeeper since aged nine, was invited for a trial at the academy where he was snapped up to play in the under-16s team.
Proud mum, Jill said: “It takes a lot of hard work, commitment, and self belief to make it to a higher level and Mack has proved this time and time again.
“He is over-the-moon to have secured this position with Newport County AFC and is very keen to get the new season started. His next ‘goal’ is to try and achieve a scholarship at 16 to take him forward to hopefully signing with the 1st team at 18.
“We have always believed Mack has the ability to go all the way. We never doubted his talent for one minute and we will continue to support him fully.”
