POLICE have asked drivers to find an alternative route as it deals with a collision on the M48 Severn Bridge.

Police said the collision is Eastbound on the M48 Severn Bridge Junction 2 to Junction 1.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and plan a different route where possible.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision on the M48 at around 6.25am on Friday 10 July. The collision involved two vehicles, and no injuries were reported.”

Update: The road is now being managed by National Highways and one lane remains closed.
