EMMA Tanner's charity bed push and fun day in memory of her mum, Christine Schwarz, turned out to be "Absolutely fantastic but totally exhausting."

However exhausting it was, it was certainly worth the effort, raising nearly £1,000 for the Intensive Care Unit at Frenchay Hospital.

The donation is Emma and her family's way of saying thank you to the unit who treated her mum after she suffered a subarachnoid haemorhage. Sadly, Christine died last year, just a few weeks after her 55th birthday.

Emma who organised the bed push from The Feathers in Coleford via pubs and clubs in Coalway, Milkwall and Sling, ended releasing a dove in her mother's memory during a fun day at The Orepool which attracted about 250 wellwishers and friends.

"It was a lovely day," says Emma, from Bream. "Thank you to everyone who came and a special thanks to everyone who sponsored us or donated gifts, James and Becky Chilton from the Orepool, Forest Inflatables, the bands, especially 'Well Preserved', Little Stars Nursery, Shelly Teague, Adam Matthews, Kev and Becky Wilkins and Helen Simmonds."
