I AM writing to you concerning the story in the Review (Jan 30) in which a claim was made that management at the Co-op, Dockham Road, were forcing employees to write letters objecting about Tesco.

I work at the Co-op an would like to inform you that the claim is a load of rubbish.

Members of staff had approached management about where to write letters to and to whom.

All staff were told that if they wished to write a letter the details could be obtained at the office.

As for 'ticking off' staff names, this was only done because staff that had shown interests had their names written down so that they could be kindly provided with paper and envelopes.

The comment that we should have our own view is an insult. Does this person think we are idiots and that we can't speak for ourselves?

Whoever this person is should get their facts straight. Any decent person would not want to see their town destroyed by Tesco. They have done enough damage elsewhere. People who think any different are fooling themselves.

The Forest is a beautiful place with great people. Let's keep it that way. – Name supplied.
