EXPERT tutors at Vintage Vision are holding a series of free sewing courses in March.

The six-week course at Bulwark Community Centre will teach some basic sewing techniques to anybody over the age of 18 regardless of their level of skills.

There are classes on Monday, March 3 from 10am-12pm and Thursday, March 6 between 7pm and 9pm. A third course will be run in Chepstow before Easter and others in Monmouth and Magor, but the dates are yet to be arranged.

"Sewing machines are provided plus boxes of materials, clothes and trimmings to raid, all for free to give you inspiration, skills, ideas, and a really good giggle," said Bernadette Kelly, director and treasurer of Vintage Vision, a social enterprise.

"We would like to thank Monmouthshire Environmental Trust for providing funding for these courses. Up-cycling vintage clothes and fabric is a great way to get your own individual look – and save materials from going to waste at the same time."
