ON Sunday October 30 you may well spot something other than wild boar when walking in the Forest!

People of all ages will be donning their pink PJs, tutus, Halloween costumes  (or a combination of all three!) and setting off on the annual 5km or 10km walks in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The walk, in memory of Relay For Life top fundraiser, Penny Jenkins, is now in its fourth year and will begin at 11am, starting and finishing at Speech House.

Raising money for the vital research into all cancers, but promoting awareness, particularly, of breast cancer (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month), the walk will be led by volunteer leaders and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair users too.

"After the event free refreshments, including home-made soup and cakes, are available for everyone, making this a wonderful opportunity for a fabulous forest, family day in the great outdoors and the chance to help make a difference in the battle to beat cancer," say the organisers.

Registration is £6 for adults and £3 for children (£10 & £5 for on the day registrations) and every penny goes to the cause.  Dogs on leads are also welcome.
