POLICE on both sides of the border are appealing for information after burglaries.
Gloucestershire Police are hunting offenders who broke into a house at the The Scowles in Coleford and stole property including antique jewellery of great sentimental value to the owner.
Gwent Police are appealing for information about two burglaries in the Bulwark area of Chepstow which happened on the same night.
Burglars broke into the property at The Scowles sometime between 12.30pm and 3.15pm on Thursday, December 21.
They took cash from a downstairs drawer and then searched upstairs, stealing some antique jewellery that was of great sentimental value to the owner.
The items included an antique engagement ring in 14 carat gold, with tiered rubies and diamonds, a gold wedding ring inset with diamonds, a blue glass pendant with matching drop ear-rings and a pair of silver drop ear-rings in Tree of Life design.
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the vicinity on the day of the theft, or have any information that could help police with their inquiries, call 101 quoting incident number 368 of December 21.
Both Bulwark offences occurred sometime overnight on Saturday and Sunday (December 30 and 31).
In both burglaries – which took place in St Ewen’s Road and Pembroke Road – offenders gained entry through a downstairs window.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 116 of December 31 for the St Ewen’s Road offence or log 286 of December 31 in relation to Pembroke Road.
