Three people, a 23-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from Coleford, and a 22-year-old man from Gwent have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the car incident which took place on Sunday (September 25).
Police were first called to Harbour Road at about 3pm and believe a black Toyota Celica, registration H731 BGX, collided with the 33-year Lydney man, before going off the road.
The man was treated in hospital for minor leg and head injuries and has been discharged.
Police say they're linking the collision with an assault in Station Road a few minutes earlier. A 19-year-old woman from Coleford was stabbed and suffered lacerations to her hand. A 30-year-old man from Cheltenham was later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and also on suspicion of possession of class B drugs (suspected ketamine and cannabis).
Officers believe those involved knew each other and are appealing for anyone who saw the Toyota Celica being driven in the area, before or after the collision, to get in contact. They'd also like to hear from the driver of a passing Landrover who helped pull the Celica out of the bushes. He is believed to be a passer-by but could help in the investigation.
