LOCAL riders once again featured strongly in this year's Wyegate Trial - but no-one could match the skills of Kingsteignton star Chris Berry who rose all 26 sections without once putting his foot down.

Forest rider Dan Bishop ran Berry close. He dropped just one mark in the all-day challenge which attracted classic trials riders from as far afield as Ireland.

Top local runners included Newnham's Frank Luther on his Honda SL230, who lost 15 marks, and Paul James from Bream who took a break from running the event to compete and did well to drop just 25 marks.

Cinderford's Bryan Grindle on his BSA B40 lost 22 marks while team-mate Rex Bendall impressed many riders on his Yamaha Serow.
